EXPRESSION OF INTREST

Atal Incubation Centre Rashtriya Raksha University (AIC RRU) invites Expressions of Interest from students across all RRU schools and campuses to propose innovative, technology based solutions addressing challenges in traffic management and road safety. The initiative seeks to encourage students to translate their knowledge and ideas into practical, affordable and scalable solutions that can contribute to safer roads and more efficient traffic and road safety systems.


Students interested in submitting ideas that address one or more of the following areas are invited to apply using the Google Form linked below.

 
1. Intelligent Traffic Management: Adaptive traffic signals, congestion prediction, route optimisation and real time traffic monitoring.

2. Road Accident Prevention: Crash warnings, pedestrian and cyclist safety, blind-spot alerts, and safer intersections.

 
3. Driver Safety: Detection of fatigue, distraction, overspeeding and unsafe driving behaviour. 

4. Emergency Response: Accident detection, location based alerts, emergency vehicle prioritise and coordination of timely assistance.

5. Road Infrastructure Monitoring: Detection and reporting of potholes, damaged signage, inadequate lighting and other road hazards.

6. Traffic Compliance: Assisted identification and analysis of traffic violations, with appropriate attention to privacy and data protection.

7. Safety of Vulnerable Road Users: Solutions for children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and two wheeler users.


8. Other Relevant Innovations: Any technology based solution with a clear application to traffic management or road safety.

Eligibility

  •  RRU students across all schools and campuses.
  • Applications may be submitted individually or in teams. Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged.
  • Ideas at the concept, proof of concept or prototype stage are welcome. (working prototype is not mandatory)

Financial Support : Selected proposals will receive financial support from AIC RRU for development, prototyping and validation. The extent and terms of support will be determined based on the proposal’s merit, development requirements and recommendations of the evaluation committee, subject to applicable approvals and availability of funds.


Review Criteria: Submissions will be reviewed  by scrutiny committee for relevance, innovation, technical feasibility and  potential impact. Applicants whose proposals are shortlisted may be invited to present their solutions.

Important Information 

  • Applicants must acknowledge any third party technology, datasets or intellectual property used in their proposals.
  • Solutions involving personal data, cameras or location tracking should explain the proposed privacy and data protection measures.
  • Any field testing involving public roads, traffic infrastructure or road users will require prior approval from the competent authorities.
  • Financial support will be provided only to proposals selected for funding following evaluation and approval. (Submission or shortlisting alone does not guarantee financial support)
